We just spent several days implementing PayPal on the ChoiceBot for e-Retailers site (not the MyChoiceBot site, which is and always will be free) because they allow our customers (in our case, online retailers) to pay their monthly subscription fees using a credit card OR PayPal.
When we started testing, however, the customer was always forced to create a PayPal account and pay via PayPal, in direct violation of the "no PayPal account required" promise prominently featured all over their website.
A call to their support line revealed that customers of recurring payments must use PayPal. The problem is that this very important fact isn't mentioned in ANY of the product literature I read, not even in this detailed, page-long explanation of the "no PayPal account required" promise.
At best, a horrendous oversight. At worst, a cheap, possibly illegal ploy to get more users to create PayPal accounts. Not this time, though... anyone care to recommend an honest payment processor we could use?
I feel a bit better now, though you probably don't. Sorry about that.
Ongoing Global ebay Boycott & the petition to remove CEO, DONAHOE!
ebay AND Paypal, now in the hands of ebay CEO, John Donahoe has seen many recent & horrendous changes. Go to ebay’s own discussion boards and read the experiences from previous ebay & Paypal users at the boards titled, “Paypal” and “Seller Central” & “Feedback”. Please note that ebay censors their boards, so the ebay nightmares are even worse than you will read there. Due to Donahoe’s recent harmful policies including FORCING ebayers to use Paypal (banning all money orders, checks, etc), there is now a World wide ebay/Paypal boycott. Please read Paypal’s amended User Agreement! Paypal now, at it’s “sole discretion” can withhold users funds for 21-180 days and their is NO RECOURSE for the users! PLEASE do an internet search of “Paypal Scams”. It will give you a better understanding of why so many people have discontinued their use of EBAY & Paypal.
Please search the internet for “Ebay Stockholders and Sellers Calling For Immediate Termination of John Donohoe CEO” to read users comments and to sign the petition. For ebay/Paypal employees experiences, go to glassdoordotcom.
Please pass the petition information on to others!

PayPal is a RIP OFF! They do not help resolve your issues when you do not receive the items you pay for. They tell you your dispute will be open for X number of days and you have to reply back before the deadline to keep you case open. I replied about 4xs before the dead line, they acted like they did not receive any of my e-mails and closed my account. I did not receive my money back nor did I receive the items I bought. This is a RIP OFF!

Seems that you got ripped of buy the seller, cause PayPal didn't rip you. They are like a bank, you transform money and then want to get it back, they don't care on what did you spend it, they just transform it. That is your own risk if you buy stuff online.
